Vintage Clothing & Fashion in the Movies: "The Women" by George Cukor 1939

Fabulous vintage clothes, don't you think? Some of the costumes are so outlandish in the best sort of way! The "eyes" sweater for example... it's so interesting, I could easily see this being snapped up in a heart beat at a vintage shop.

  1. It's an incredible film isn't it? A favourite of vintage lovers around the globe. The eye sweater is extremely surreal and a very popular influence of the time.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful images. :)

  4. I just love this movie and watch it every chance I get! The fashion show is amazing, but Rosalind Russell is my favorite thing about it. She is the best. It was fun looking at these stills--thank you!

  5. I loveee old movies so much. The fashion was so much better back then (imo). I wish I could own that brown (or is it burnt orange?) jacket. So pretty. xo -

  6. The red and white dress reminds me of Mary Poppins! =] I love the little white Peter Pan collar blouses they're wearing with their miniskirts as well.
