Ever since I started working in the fashion industry my taste in clothes have gotten a lot more simple. I think it stems from the fact that I really don't have time to put together outfits anymore so I usually throw on a pair of trousers and a blouse and my trusty Loeffler Randall pumps and I'm out the door.

A Vintage Outfit Post: A Shot of Color

I want things in my life to be more simple. Beautiful, yes, always. But simple. I definitely don't shop as much as I used to, I've never been a big shopper which contradicts a lot of people's initial opinion of me. I work in fashion AND I operate a vintage shop...therefore I should love shopping. But I really don't. Which leads me to talk about these trousers I just picked up from H&M. They fit so well I bought one in just about every color they offered. It was a quick decision. Fits well, love them, ok, let's go! I usually stick to the classics...khaki, black, grey...but this time I bought the bright orange pink trousers just to be spontaneous. So, maybe I shouldn't be so afraid of color anymore...paired with grey of course. Hey now, one has got to stick to one's true self.

  2. I am EXACTLY the same as you, always sticking to the greys, blacks, neutrals but actually...love it when I wear colour! I used to really style my everyday outfits from head to toe but again like you, since working in the fashion industry I don't seem to as much and definitely can relate to your dislike to shopping, it really gets on my nerves these days!

  6. Working years ago in retail I now hate to shop and find myself picking up items off the floor and putting them back on the hanger (much to my daughters embarrassment) but love the trousers you should wear bright colours they make the day that little bit more sunny.

  8. The color looks fabulous on you, and I love that you paired them with such simple, understated accessories. It makes the pants not so "crazy" when everything else is toned down. Love it!

  12. I like your post and I agree with you that simplicity is the best way to make marvelous dress combinations.
Sometimes vintage clothing is wrongly related to fancy, weird and exquisite fashion, which is both hard to find and expensive to buy. It shouldn’t be like that though, because when those vintage clothes were worn at first place, I don’t think they cost a fortune to their owners, so why should they do now?
Most clothes worn on special occasions like weddings etc. are used once a year, not to say once in a lifetime. Other than that, everyday clothes should make us feel comfortable and serve the purpose of practicality.
