My Paris dreams, for the time being, must take a back seat as present life is taking its course and well, dreams just have to remain dreams for awhile.
But I did come across these ever so delightful vintage photographs of shops in Paris photographed between 1900 and 1926 and looking at the window shops of stores in Paris from bygone years...well it's like taking a mini vacation (Adored Vintage style) to France in oh... 2 minutes? sources & credits: George Eastman House, J Paul Getty Museum, and MoMa. I love Eugene Atget's photos of parisian streets and shops! He captured times that are all gone, telling stories of the past - but you can still see traces of it in the streets of Paris and the atmosphere is often still there, intact.
ReplyDeleteParis, no matter what era, will always hold a sense of magic for me even though I have never been there.
DeleteThank you for your lovely comment!
Only one thing to say: much better than nowadays.
ReplyDeleteLOL that is good to hear!!! I can't wait to someday visit Paris!
DeleteSome of those shop windows remind me of the new Allsaints that just opened in Chicago with windows full of antique sewing machines. http://chicago.popsugar.com/AllSaints-Chicago-Opening-17970464
ReplyDeleteThese charming vintage store front photographs are simply beautiful. And with regard to your Paris dreams, don't wait too long- sometimes you just have to make things happen and not worry too much about circumstances that seem to be preventing you. I'm sure you'll get there! :)
ReplyDeleteI love their window displays!
ReplyDeleteThese photos set my heart all a flutter... le sigh. Your aptly described idyllic Parisian vacation is still just a dream for me as well. Some day!
