Here are some rare fashion sketches from the house of CHANEL through the 1950s and 1960s. Coco Chanel was most famous for her suit sets and it is amazing to me to be able to see these before they were ever cut and sewn from cloth. A fashion sketch is at first a dream then later materialized (and most are not). Which Chanel suit from the 1950s and 1960s is your favorite?
These CHANEL vintage fashion sketches are from the Bergdorf Goodman archives via Ana Lee Russian blog. Check out the link for more sketches!
Oh this is Amazing,in this time I'm trying to sew a Chanel inspired jacket..

These are all so stunning. I think B34 is my favorite though. Between the hat and the parasol and the overall color - it's perfect :)

I was not still born during this time and I appreciate knowing the trends form 50's and 60's. This vintage dresses are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteReally great blog keep it up.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful sketches!!! I try sketching, but mine are, of course, nowhere near as pretty as these!
ReplyDeleteI like the fourth suit, a little less boxy and has softer lines.
Wow the 1950s to 1960s sketches are very nice. I specially like the channel 16. Wow! what a gorgeous outlook there.
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing! But then all of the Vogue artwork of that time was stunning. And they almost never used photos back then.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to write about the illustrator of that time from Vogue whose work I have a piece of . . . thanks for the idea! And stay tuned, I'll have that piece up in a few days, hopefully.
