If you have not seen "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" starring Amy Adams and Frances McDormand, please go see it! The movie is quite cute and Amy Adams as Delysia Lafosse is charming and loveable even if she is on the prissy materialistic side.

Delysia's apartment is extremely glamorous and very posh. I love all the icy cool tones and the quilted wall behind her bed. Her house has a lot of mirrors and items that reflect light. Also love the chinoiserie wallpaper.

To get the same 1940s glamour look in your own home choose icy cool colors such as silver and blue. Fabrics should be luxe and soft (silks, high thread count cotton). Add accessories that reflect a lot of light such as chandeliers, mirrored tables, or silver picture frames. Here are some ideas to get you started.

  2. It is a cute film, but I also thought the apartment was the best bit.
Although the lingerie show was pretty good to.

  3. It's beautiful but I don't think I could ever relax in a room like that. I'd be too nervous about breaking something... :D
