what a better way to end the month of may than with a plethora of flowers, vintage floral prints, floral embellishments, flowers everywhere! i've finally received my brand new dress form which is a size 2. i have been on a hunt for a vintage dress form that was a size 2 but sadly my search was fruitless. so these hopefully will be the last time you see dresses too small on my vintage dress forms (they won't zip up!)

I must say this weekend was pretty epic. In a totally "I'm an old fart" kind of way. Alcohol drank... hardly any. Will you count two sips of a fruity beer? I didn't think so. It all began Friday evening when I went to sleep at the luxurious hour of 10:30 PM. You see, last week I was hardly present at my abode as I took advantage of outing invitations every single evening and crashed at home around 1-2 in the morning. Hardly responsible...but again, these outings had very little to do with alcohol (Korean karaoke...yes! Dancing to 90s music under disco lights and sipping on Sprite...yes!)

Anyhow, they say photos say more than 1,000 words. I'm not sure if I've got that one quite right and I'm much too lazy at the moment to google it... so here are a series of Instagrammed photos to recap the weekend of awesomeness.

So next time I have a totally shitty MONTH (because up until last week and this weekend, that's the pattern it's been going) I'll look back on this weekend and count my blessings. Happy Memorial Day folks!

I love these vintage photographs from the 1940s and the 1950s... they give off such a wonderful feeling of nostalgia. Happy times spent under the warmth of the summer sunshine. These photographs just make me so happy!


I am absolutely swooning over the gal's bathing suit (two pictures up) and her beau has great style too! I am totally digging their whole look! I need to buy more hot pants! I love vintage short shorts, mostly because they flatter my figure better. I'm definitely "vintage shaped" which I'm happy about, no complaints here, but it does make finding modern day clothing that fits my more retro sensibilities a bit difficult.

It's been quite a week so far and it's only Wednesday. I'm also mildy surprised at myself for taking this many outfit photos (that's 3-4 now for May?), but if I am honest, it's really more of a "proof is in the pudding" thing for me that I wear the same shit all the time. An entire trash bag of clothes were just recently donated to a friend's closet. Happy dressing, my friend!

Also, I really quite liked this outfit. This white cotton blouse I ordered from the Levi's store just arrived on Monday and I couldn't wait to wear it. I have a feeling it is going to be one of new favorites I wear over and over again. This skirt I've had for awhile now and I've torn the hem in two places because it's a bit too long and I'm a bit of a klutz in heels.


I think my favorite part about the outfit are the berries on my hat. I pinned it on last minute before heading over to the MYRTLE + Gretchen Jones trunk show. (A post on that later!) Yay, it's Wednesday!

My friend Whitney (who is adorable and has amazing taste) owns the equally adorable and well curated women's boutique MYRTLE shop in Echo Park is hosting a trunk show with Gretchen Jones of Project Runway fame. Ahh...sorry I said fame, that sounds kind of lame. Oh damn, now I'm rhyming. *must have more coffee*

I've almost been in my apartment for a year now and I am ITCHING absolutely itching to redecorate. I actually want to move again but I think it's just because I'm bored of my vintage apartment.

I am very inspired by these clean and grey Mid Century modern inspired spaces. I do need to add warmth and loveliness to my apartment which I am hoping to do by getting navajo rugs and kilim pillows. I must always have flowers though, but we'll see... I'm having fun dreaming about this new space of mine.

I've been doing this a lot lately, whole lotta knottin'. Sorry, that was a lame attempt at a play on words. Anyhow, if you've been reading my previous outfit posts I hinted at my closet dilemma. And by dilemma I mean it's super trivial and not even worth blogging about...but whatever, this is my vintage fashion blog and I can do what I want. *hehe*

So, the top and skirt are from one of my favorite shops in Los Angeles which is LIBRARY on Larchmont Blvd. This snap button cotton top I honestly wear a few times a week whether it be as a pseudo jacket or alone. I frickin' love it and got it on sale marked down from $150 to $60. *yes*


Same old bag as always and same shoes. I have a rotation of about 3-4 pairs of shoes I wear despite owning over 30 pairs of shoes. I'm slowly (slowlyyy) weeding things out of my closet.
