In my mind I have this idyllic vacation of Paris. Like so many others, I fantasize of sitting at a cafe and enjoying a small coffee whilst smoking a cigarette (yes, I know it is BAD for you), wearing a little beret and me wrapped up in an oh so chic vintage trench coat wearing black ballerina flats ala Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face.

My Paris dreams, for the time being, must take a back seat as present life is taking its course and well, dreams just have to remain dreams for awhile.

But I did come across these ever so delightful vintage photographs of shops in Paris photographed between 1900 and 1926 and looking at the window shops of stores in Paris from bygone years...well it's like taking a mini vacation (Adored Vintage style) to France in oh... 2 minutes? 1. I love Eugene Atget's photos of parisian streets and shops! He captured times that are all gone, telling stories of the past - but you can still see traces of it in the streets of Paris and the atmosphere is often still there, intact.

    1. Paris, no matter what era, will always hold a sense of magic for me even though I have never been there.

Thank you for your lovely comment!

  3. Some of those shop windows remind me of the new Allsaints that just opened in Chicago with windows full of antique sewing machines. http://chicago.popsugar.com/AllSaints-Chicago-Opening-17970464

  4. These charming vintage store front photographs are simply beautiful. And with regard to your Paris dreams, don't wait too long- sometimes you just have to make things happen and not worry too much about circumstances that seem to be preventing you. I'm sure you'll get there! :)
