I love chilly mornings when there is a bit of fog on the ground and a sort of crisp sweet smell in the air. One of my fondest childhood memories are the drives my family took to Vermont for Thanksgiving. The foliage was always exceptionally beautiful in the New England coast.

There is nothing sweeter in the world than a kiss. A kiss from your beloved, a child, a friend. I'm quite an affectionate person and usually upon meeting you will give you a hug. My Grandmother always said hugs and kisses were very special and should be given out often.

So for today's "Saturday Vintage Inspiration", a series of old photographs of just that. X's and O's!

Some more vintage inspirations for you...

Miss Mary Virginia Yellott and Miss Mary Carolyn Henry walking their ducks in Washington, D.C. Taken between 1925-32

June Vogue cover. Wow this outfit is so fabulous, no? The blue and green plaid 50s dress, the straw brim hat, and those deep red lips with matching nails... what glamour! Can't you see Dita Von Teese wearing this entire ensemble?

Oh goodness, I love this whole outfit! I'm such a sucker for librarian inspired looks. This woman (photograph is from the 1930s) really knew how to pair clothing together, didn't she? The high waisted skirt, the cardigan (or is it cape?) This is a lovely article of clothing... the collar looks beautiful!

Ooo cheeky and cute! Look at her little summer outfit! And again another wonderful straw hat. Photo from the 1940s.

I love this advertisement. The woman is going through her husband's tackle box and seeing which feathers would best adorn her new hat. Ahh, the things we girls do for the sake of fashion! (Illustrated by Frederic Varady)

Vintage 1950's Bali Bra advertisement. Love this advertisement, look how pointed her feet are!

Vintage 1950's fashion. Oh goodness, her waist is so SMALL!!! What do you reckon it measures? 16", 15"?

Aren't these ladies just so sweet? I love the vintage clothing. A cotton candy pink 60s sheath dress and a sunny yellow bikini top with matching yellow bathing suit cover up. So cute!

They're sunbathing in San Francisco. Oh goodness, women do not sunbathe like this anymore. And we should!
