Dolce and Gabbana never fails in our books. D&G is always romantic, vintage inspired, and utterly glamorous. These are the kind of clothes we would live in if we were a modern day princess and had the matching bank account. The Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2014 runway collection just tugged at my floral loving heart. I also loved the Greek nuances and the romantic Pre-Raphaelite inspired hair. Absolutely dreamy!

This color palette is the epitome of cool, classic, and chic (at least in my book) and I am currently in the midst of revamping my wardrobe to mostly all neutrals. One of my favorite elements of this collection are the tea length flared skirts very reminiscent of the 1950s. It's like Christian Dior's 'New Look' for the hip + happenin' of 2014. Thankfully I own plenty of vintage 1950s skirts that are very similar to these styles (because as we all know, runway fashion is muy muy expensive!)

Valentino has won my heart again with a collection so undoubtedly inspired by the 1930s. The puffed sleeves, the breezy blouses, the bias cut skirts and dresses... There's a small nod to the late 1940s and early 1950s with the collars and fuller skirts, but it's these designs that really incorporate the 1930s that just tug at my heart strings.

I love when designers are inspired by silhouettes and details from different eras and the Valentino Spring 2013 collection is so perfectly spot on with the 30s details! Just in love with everything about it! Beautiful feminine clothing paired with simple hairstyles and minimal accessories. J'adore!

I also have to add that I LOVE this color palette! I really used to not like navy blue all that much, but after seeing it here paired with peach and nude...I have a new found love and appreciation for navy blue! So perhaps when I do my next vintage shop update with navy blues, I won't be so sour faced about it. *haha*

When it comes to modern day fashion, frankly I hardly know what's going on. What I know of trends and what the masses of girls should be wearing on the streets I learn from my day job.

I happened upon this old collection from Luisa Beccaria circa Spring 2006 and a collection has never resonated so well with my own personal taste. Well ONE OF my personal tastes. I adore beautiful pretty vintage inspired clothes but as much as I love all things ultra feminine and ethereal I also love just a plain pair of chinos and a chambray button up.

What I love the most about this collection is the color palette. Creams, pale pinks, pale peach. I'm normally not into pale green or pale blue, but it's so slight here that it is just beautiful. The applique details on the dresses, the soft ruffles, the whispery flow of chiffon...all absolutely lovely. I want to wear one of these dresses and float around.

"This is our reaction to vulgarity. We imagined a modern Victorian woman, discreet, moody, rich, and luxurious."- Rolf Snoeren

It has been awhile since anything on the runways has really made my heart strings play a pretty little tune. At first glance, these vampiric inspired images from the Viktor & Rolf Pre-Fall 2012 collection made me hesitate, but some of their silhouettes caught my eye and eventually I took a closer look... and thank goodness I did!

I am so completely in love with all of these pieces. Completely. Head to toe, want everything. The 1930s shapes are just stunning, I love the Victorian accents like the high necked blouses, the ruffles! Oh God those ruffles! The colors, the fabrics, the draping... perhaps I could do without the full moon backdrop, but it definitely lends a mythical and dark appeal to the collection.

Oh my goodness, every time I look at these clothes I just die a little inside because I could never afford these pieces without putting a huge dent in my bank account. I have never with any designer even considered plunking hundreds upon hundreds for one garment (for vintage, sure, for modern day designs...eh, not really).

I am dying over the brown dress with polka dot sheer panel in the front and the bow. Dying over it. Such an amazing collection!
