Teal tights, fur collared coat, floral dress, and gorgeous braided red hair, need we say more?

The perfect mix of pretty, drama, and chic for a night at the Opera.

This lovely lass is our hero. Those stockings, the heels, the 1940s suit, and a terrificly fabulous chapeau!

Sweet and simple, the girl next door in the most adorable way.

Florals on florals? Of course, we'll take a second helping actually!

I can't deny my love for pretty floral prints and muted tones. And, let's not leave out a vintage satchel, an absolute necessity for one that wants to achieve granny chic. But this is cute granny chic, what shall we label this style? It's a mix of youthful and girly but kind of granny too. But can granny and youth be in the same sentence (aside from the one I just wrote, HAHA, clever me!)

Spring Inside.

Well, Penelope might be my long lost twin when it comes to vintage clothing and collecting. (Sorry, that's a tad creepy to say...) But, I must note that I own the same bunny mask (I was the "White Rabbit" for Halloween last year) and I too own hat boxes and that same traveling case (although mine is caramel colored). Hmmm... and the vintage pictures pinned up with clothespin, why, I've got the very same motif above my desk!

Anyhow, without further ado...

I love this outfit! The high waisted sailor inspired shorts with the yellow peter pan blouse. I wish I had shorts like these. BTW, if you visit Double Speak's flickr, be sure to view her outfits set, she has so many wonderful vintage clothes!

What She Wore:
Navy ribbon in hair (Minnie Mouse Style)
Yellow ribbon/bow earrings - made by me
1930s style yellow blouse with Peter Pan collar with white Scottie Dog print - F21
Vintage navy shorts (I replaced the pink buttons)

I love the mix-match patterns and especially love how she's worn her hair!

She Said:
skirt: vintage '50s via Ebay
tee: thrifted
sandals: thrift (remixed)
satchel: vintage '70s, thrifted (remixed)
watch: my grandfather's

I don't know if you can see it very well, but I'm actually wearing two novelty prints at one time! First I thought it wouldn't work, but I decided to go for it. It was quite a fun combination: the tee has little umbrellas printed on it and the skirt has little rabbits and turtles, like in that story! Or this Animal Collective video.

I wore this at the visit to the Mucsarnok Kunsthalle in Budapest.

I meant to post this yesterday right after I had lunch with my friend, Kimmy, but then I got back and had to take care of some work things and then realized I ran out of packing tape and had to jet off and get some from Staples (btw did you know packing tape is NOT cheap?) Then I realized I had nothing for dinner, so I had to run back out to Publix... so I got busy and forgot about it.

Anyhow, without further ado...

I officially have a style crush.

Today's 'She Wears Vintage' fashion inspiration is the lovely Winter, a 23 year old from China who has a penchant for dressing with casual whimsy adding touches of vintage charm here and there.

I love that she photographs herself amidst a delightful clutter of shoes, books, old records, and a very vintage looking speaker.

I really, really must be a bit more adventurous when it comes to dressing.

I always admire a girl who can pull off an adorable haircut such as Jessica from PigeonsLookSillyWhenTheyWalk. Even more so, I admire a girl who wears little hats and bowties as it is not often I see on the streets milling about girls with cute haircuts and little hats.

Perhaps I am living in the wrong city? The girls in London seem to be rather keen on wearing hats and hair barrettes, and I so wish it were more the norm around here!

But enough prattle... some vintage outfit inspirations from Jessica.

What She Said: "I like this photo because just as my camera was counting to self timer my lovely boyfriend walked out and laughed at me taking a selfie! Have you ever actually imagined someone watching you take self portraits? It does look a little ridiculous.
(especially when you live in hillbilly hell dressed like a doll...)"

Oh my. You know sometimes you wander around online and something pretty will catch your eye and you have to share. This is the case with the lovely Fleur de Guerre who is just so beautiful and lovely you really must visit! She has a blog "Diary of a Vintage Girl" (I am officially a fan now)
