Oh my goodness... I adore this vintage inspired dress so very, very much! It's a pale nude cream color with black and grey feathers cascading all around. I just adore the late 1930s turned 1970s silhouette with the blouson style top, floaty open sleeves, and the keyhole back. Oh, and little fun fact...this dress is from the company I work (aka my day job!), S U G A R L I P S.

Kind of a silly name, but I love the clothes we carry, well most of it anyway. It's actually really exciting as I get to work with the designers sometimes and give them design inspirations. This dress for instance was a bit inspired by this gorgeous photo I saw of a girl wearing a bohemian chiffon dress by Chloe. Tres Jolie!

If you follow me on Instagram and have seen my Instagrammed outfits, I've actually worn S U G A R L I P S quite often. Recently I wore the Ma Cherie polka dot blouse (guess who named this blouse... that's right, moi!)...

My taste in jewelry usually leans on the simple and delicate side which is why I was completely ecstatic to have discovered Curious Creatures on Etsy! All the pieces are right up my alley. Simple, chic, a bit of color, and lots of geometric shapes.

I've been coveting the Everyday Necklace which the shop was kind enough to send to me as a gift (thank you! thank you!) If you follow me on Instagram you'll see that I wear it quite often...

Over the weekend I wore it while doing some work in my vintage atelier. Usually when I'm working I wear very simple clothes. But you know, still a good mix of vintage thrown in there.

If you know me in person, or even if you know through online mediums it might not be a surprise to you that I love geometric shapes. That is why when I spotted these handpainted geometric shaped necklaces by artist Meghann Rader I had to let her know right away how in love I was!

You can purchase these beautiful pieces here: Meghann Rader - Etsy Shop. The above three are my favorite pieces from her shop and Meghann was kind enough to send me the Wooden Geometric Triangle Necklace which I've worn quite a few times since receiving it. (BTW, her packaging is stellar, I was so ecstatic about it when it arrived in the mail!)

Came across this pretty rad website Society 6 where you can purchase art prints from thousands of different artists OR have their prints skinned for your iPad, iPhone, iPod, etc... Needless to say, I am kind of freaking out over these vintage camera iPhone cases.

I really need to upgrade to a 4G, but can't until summer. *le sigh* The prices are super affordable too! About $35 for an iPhone case. J'adore!

Well in some parts of the world Valentine's Day is over, but here in California, I've still got over an hour left, so still time to do my official Valentine's Day post! At first I was going to do a post on vintage Valentine's day cards, but I don't know, I felt like posting something a little more personal but still you know, vintage centric.

10 Things I Love | A Valentine's Day Post

1.] Funny Face is my all time favorite Audrey Hepburn movie. It has nearly everything I love. Audrey. France. Fashion. Singing. Dancing. Fred Astaire. Photography. Cool beatnik bar where you can dance all kooky and NO ONE seems to notice and later on get featured in a snazzy Gap commercial!

2.] Steve McQueen. So in real life he was kind of a dirt bag. But in still pictures, especially any stills from "The Great Escape" ohh boy.

3.] Polka dots. I wear them at least once a week, without fail.

4.] Peonies and Ranunculus are my favorite flowers. But I just love flowers in general.

5.] Fairy Tales. I still read them. I'll go to the library once in awhile and borrow fairy tale books and sometimes little kids look at me funny.

6.] Clair De Lune. Probably my all time favorite song ever. I've liked it since I started listening to classical music when I was a wee thing and was looking for new songs to practice ballet at home. My Dad had one of those classical cd collections that could have only been purchased from an infomercial and so at the precocious age of 10 I was introduced to Claude Debussy.

7.] Color coding. And lining things up. Sorting stuff. I'm weird.

8.] Jellyfish. They're so cool.

9.] Lingerie and nightgowns from the 1920s are the epitome of pretty intimates in my opinion. Unfortunately most of my collection isn't all that wearable to bed since they're a bit fragile. I've torn two in my sleep already! (I must be having ninja dreams or something!)

10.] Grey, cream, white, and pale peach pink are my favorite colors. Blue is my least favorite.

I am developing an unhealthy obsession with stripes. And this is coming from a gal who went through a hot and heavy obsession with florals and polka dots. (You cannot imagine the absurd amount of the latter I have in my closet.)

Vintage Fashion Inspiration Briton Stripes

I think the recent obsession with Briton stripes has something to do with a new phase I am entering as far as personal style goes. Once upon a time all I wore were summery dresses and skirts and now I feel like my taste has really been inspired by more masculine shapes and forms. Still blended in with vintage, I'll never get over that, obviously!

So without further chit chat, here are even more Stripes currently inspiring me and plastered all over my "Pinterest"

I love the subtle tones and the soft bubble shapes of Calla Haynes's debut label, Calla. The Paris based designer was a former model and studied at Parsons, her debut collection first showed at Paris Fashion Week. Calla is such a sweet and elegant line and I am finding much inspiration for my Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Most of the clothes had a 40s inspired silhouette, which is probably why it caught my eye. While the entire collection wasn't my particular cup of tea, these four looks I really adore! Pastels, florals, polka dots... what's not to love?

The first look reminds me of Little Bo Peep, maybe because I thought the umbrella was a cane at first?

The Autumn 2009 Orla Kiely collection definitely was a source of inspiration for the upcoming vintage clothes going up in the shop in the next couple of weeks.

Lots of browns, preppy plaids and stripes, peter pan collars, big buttons, and of course just a bit of floral prints here and there...

The style is very reminscent of late 60s early 70s. I love it! And I really must get a pair of these tights! (BTW if you are looking for cute tights, ModCloth.com has a bunch of seriously droolworthy choices!)

I am so smitten by the Built By Wendy Fall collection. Also love the Fall LOOKBOOK pictures photographed by Annabel Mehran

The clothing evokes a bit of that 60s innocence, the raised waist dresses and sheaths paired with tights. I simply adore it!

The Rib Ballet Top is a wardrobe must have. I need to stock up on a few ballet inspired tops. I wish I had kept all my ballet leotards from when I was younger!

Current Runway Favorites

Perusing through the Runway pictures from Elle.com and wanted to share a few of my favorites. Most of these are from the Resort collections, so they're a bit more cheerful and softer (which I like).

I just noticed most of the outfits I really was drawn to were neutrals...huh? I'm usually a girl who loves her colors and bold prints.

I also noticed many of these had RUFFLES. I love ruffles. Not 80's cuckoo-crazy ruffles though. *shudders*

Because everyone wears high heels when they go bird watching! What? You mean to say youdon't?

I absolutely love this poppy print dress, I love bright pops of colors on my clothes, especially floral prints! I'm looking for a proper pair of caramel brown heels. These are a nice pair, they have a bit of that "edgy" look I see everywhere, but not too edgy as I'm not really an edgy kind of girl.

I like my floral prints, my bird inspired accessories, and soft feminine lines, thank you.
