I love this collection because of the apparent nod to vintage 1960s French fashion. It's young, wearable, and playful and you can take pieces that a 16 year old girl could wear it or a woman in their 30s could wear.

The show was styled so sweetly with the polka dot tights, colorful gloves, and double strapped mary-janes. My favorites are the black and red checked patterned blouse and skirt.

Adorevintage has finally gotten in new vintage clothes and accessories! YAY! The Bon Chance Madeline 1950s wiggle dress is one of my absolute favorites in the shop and would keep it in a heartbeat if it were my size! The "reverse" Peter Pan collar is just too cute, don't you think? I also quite love the Bird of Paradise hat from the 1940s with the giant plumes and the green net veil. I actually used this for a styling job I had a couple weeks ago (which hopefully you'll see in a magazine very soon!)

The vintage Wooded Violets Necklace makes me smile whenever I see it. The first time I spotted them I thought of Betty Grable even though they're from the 1980s, I don't know why, I just think of Betty! I was so shocked to find out the label on the South of Fiji Dress reads Frederick's of Hollywood! When I think of Frederick's I always imagine their cheesy lingerie, but not super adorable vintage sundresses!

Guess which of these is my favorite?! If you guessed The Cat Lady Necklace then you're right! This vintage necklace is made out of little kitty cat charms *meow* and I adore it so! I have one similar to it with elephants that I love dearly. I have quite a few figural vintage jewelry pieces so sometimes I need to let them go so I don't become the crazy cat lady of vintage costume jewelry. Ha! Ha!

Fashion + Travel: Fantasy Wardrobe for a Charming Weekend

While I love seeing family for the Holidays, sometimes I wish my dearest and I could whisk ourselves away for a romantic holiday week in far off locales. But, seeing as how ticket prices always skyrocket during the holidays, we may just settle for a lovely weekend at a B&B in Carmel (which is one of the most charming towns I've come across in California so far)

With Thanksgiving fast approaching I found this gorgeous editorial from Vogue Korea to be quite fitting for the current weather and the season. I absolutely love the wardrobe from this shoot, the long plaid skirt paired with fitted knit turtleneck and fur collar, oh goodness! Doesn't this editorial just evoke all the wonderfulness that is Autumn?

This week flew by so quickly! We arrived back on Monday from Sacramento, Tuesday was spent doing laundry for the family (we've been out of town, on business trips for the past THREE WEEKS, that's A TON of laundry!) and later on a dentist appointment for the kiddo, Wednesday I met with the lovely Gisela from Bella Vintage at La Mill Coffee Boutique in Silver Lake.

coffeewithbella
Gisela got the most amazing looking "Cream Brulee" latte, it literally had a burnt sugar foam on top. (Jealous was I, yes, yes) but I did go for a safe bet, a plain latte.

Gisela was such a sweetheart! We both have daughters (hers is 13, mine is 12) who are both into fashion but follow their own little styles. Her daughter's name is Zoe and my stepdaughter's name is Chloe! Isn't that a happy chance?

On Thursday I had a lovely 1940s inspired photoshoot with Caitlin Bellah that will hopefully appear in a magazine soon! I'm so excited for the photos!

And yesterday, what I thought was going to be a quick pop into FedEx to pick up a most important package turned into a 6.5 mile WALK to Koreatown in 90 degree heat. I meant to get work done for my kiddo's birthday party this afternoon, but I passed out on the bed with my workout clothes still on.

My poor vintage shop has been so neglected, I did add a few little vintage goodies yesterday, but trust me, I have so MUCH more to post up along with lots of lovely new pictures to share of my latest styling jobs!
