One of the loveliest vintage shop updates I've posted! Perfect if you have a wedding to go to or a formal affair or even if YOU are the beautiful bride to be! This shop update is all about pretty vintage wedding dresses, flowery gowns, and those golden little details.

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE the vintage photo archives by LIFE Magazine! It is such an amazing source for vintage fashion inspiration of really wonderful photographers that are not well known.

Here are some fantastic vintage 1950s beach fashion photos photographed by Loomis Dean. All images are from Life Photo Archives hosted on Google. If you search "BEACH 1950s" you'll find a lot more photos from this series, but these were my favorite!

This week's shop updates feature some of the loveliest vintage dresses and gowns from the 1920s and 1930s I have in my vintage stock. I've been holding on to these for awhile and to be honest I don't really know why...I just do that sometimes. I don't have anywhere to wear them to, they're not my size... but yet I just like having them hanging around the studio looking all sorts of pretty and dainty. *hehe*



VINTAGE 1930S LACE WEDDING GOWN
This 1930s lace wedding gown is so gorgeous! On a hanger it doesn't look like much, but when it's on...wowee zowee! Some of the lace on the shoulders came apart, but since this dress needs to be worn with something underneath, a stitch here and there should do the trick!



VINTAGE 1930S SHEER RUFFLED GOWN
I've had this dress for over a year. I kept thinking I would wear it somewhere, some kind of garden themed 1930s wedding or something...but alas, such an invitation never arrived in my mailbox...so to the shop this dress goes. It's a rescue piece. The armholes were raw and had to be reinforced. The lace ruffles actually weigh down the chiffon (so if you're a ruffles girl...this dress is for you!)



VINTAGE 1930S BLACK LACE ILLUSION GOWN
When I first spotted this dress again I just fell in love with the black lace (I love lace!) But when I saw it on the form, my jaw literally dropped. It is so much more gorgeous worn than it is just hanging! The back of the dress has the most demure of a bustle...well not sure if bustle is the right word, but you can kind of see the layered lace and how it would create a soft swish swish when you walk.

My taste in jewelry usually leans on the simple and delicate side which is why I was completely ecstatic to have discovered Curious Creatures on Etsy! All the pieces are right up my alley. Simple, chic, a bit of color, and lots of geometric shapes.






I've been coveting the Everyday Necklace which the shop was kind enough to send to me as a gift (thank you! thank you!) If you follow me on Instagram you'll see that I wear it quite often...

Over the weekend I wore it while doing some work in my vintage atelier. Usually when I'm working I wear very simple clothes. But you know, still a good mix of vintage thrown in there.

There's been a quiet busy buzz with everything going on at ADORED | VINTAGE. I am finding that every single one of my days is filled up, planned, and accounted for. There's definitely been a lot of love, laughter, tears (of happiness and sadness), and all around crazy around here. But for the most part, when looking back at these little snapshots of my life... I feel very blessed.




I'm definitely enjoying life, but I need a day of doing nothing soon. But that's hard for me. I hate being idle. And I hate feeling like I didn't progress in any way. A day of doing nothing is a day wasted for me. :) How about you?

Weeks ago the lovely Jennifer Sosa, wedding photographer based in New York, came out to LA and we had a sunny fun day chatting over breakfast in Griffith Park and playing dress up in my work studio. I can't say I'm exactly camera shy, but I tend to be a lot more goofy when other people are taking photos of me... (like if it's just me and a timer, I can pull off the "serious" faces).

She snapped a couple photos of me in my "regular" clothes... then we snapped some of me wearing this antique 1900s bridal wedding set and a wax floral crown with little pearls.

Oh goodness, I honestly have to just accept sometimes that life is crazy busy and hectic. And while I'm pretty much doing everything I like or love (with the exception of a string of days here and there when the day job is majorly stressing me out) I sometimes wish things could just slow down. That I could slow down.

But slowing down for me means I'm not moving forward or accomplishing anything... going through a lot of processing right now. Learning, growing. Better than before, but still not better. If that makes sense.

Looking at vintage photographs always calms me down for some reason. I can't exactly pinpoint why. I guess because these moments are captured, paused, beautiful. But you know their stories continued forward. That's kind of beautiful to me.

I had quite a frustrating day at work today and have been having multiple inner monologues with myself about it. The fella is getting better at reading me and that when I just go into shut down mode it's because my mind is whirring like a tornado, smoke all a steamin!


There are good days and bad days. Pros and Cons. Sometimes the promise of greatness seems slightly attainable, but today I was just really crushed by something my boss said.

So I've been asked to stay longer, later hours which means a typical 11-12 hour work day at my day job. And time and time again I have tried to explain to my boss I cannot stay 11 hours every evening as I have plans after certain work days (Bible Study on Mondays and Tuesday Night Dinners with my Church). And he responded to this that my "personal life can't be excuses" and that I must stay late every day until the launch of our new project (which has now been moved to October...it was March, then June, then Aug, now October)

I'm starting to wonder if it's worth all the stress. Then part of me worries about just doing A | V full time. Can I do it? Have you ever taken a scary leap? How did you get the guts to do it?

Today my feet are shaky and I hate that.
