Our favorite modern day vintage style icon, the beautiful Dita Von Teese wearing all shades of red! I've finally gotten around to relaunching the Style Gallery (previously known as the "Lookbook" on AV). Lots more fabulous Dita Von Teese fashion and style inspirations on the main site! Appropriate clothes gives us self-confidence and help us to make good impressions on other people.

Learn by discovering what are considered the proper costumes for typical occasions, by critically watching what other girls wear, and by dressing correctly every day. A few pictures of Zooey Deschanel in the cutest vintage dresses! She has wonderful stage style, don't you think? I bet Zooey's closet is full of 50s party dresses and playful 60s minis. I also feel she chooses silhouettes that really compliment her coloring and figure.

I would love to start wearing hats, but I haven't quite figured out how to easily incorporate them in casual daywear like women did back in the good old days. Here are a lovely vintage hats from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s that are quite special, but are really the kind of hats you can't wear day to day unless you are Dita Von Teese.

Sorry for the little hiatus from the blog. Spent a long weekend with the family up North and always need a mini vacation from the mini vacation. *hehe* Actually I was busy with catching up on housework which meant work-work had to wait.

Just read an interview with Zooey Deschanel from Topshop and thought I would share.

A few quotes...

You tend to wear a lot of vintage. Which era do you love the most?
That's hard to say. Stylistically, I have always liked the sixties - I love the dress shapes and the diversity of fashion that emerged from that era. (I kind of flit and float between all the eras but seem to own mostly 50s, 60s, and 70s)

Is there someone or something that inspires your look?
I am inspired by a lot of different people but I think as I grow older I want to dress to express myself and show who I am rather than try to be like someone else. I also always get jealous of children's fashion. I often walk by shops with dresses and coats made for little girls and wish they made them for adults! (I feel this way too!)

One of the reasons I adore Rachel Zoe's style so much is she really sticks to what she loves and what looks good on her. And of course, she is also a huge fan of vintage and advocates wearing it on a daily basis (hurrah!)

Here are some pictures of Rachel Zoe at Vogue's 1 Year Anniversary Party For 3.1 Phillip Lim's LA Store wearing a vintage 1970s maxi dress with a lovely paisley and floral print. It has a folky glam feel to it, don't you think? Well actually, I think it's more just folky...but since Rachel Zoe just adds a bit of glam to everything she wears... it becomes folk glam.

I meant to post this awhile back... but never got around to it. I was browsing around the internet for cute vintage sundresses and happened along this one. unfortunately it's sold out...

I can't remember for the life of me where this dress is from since I've had these pictures for nearly a year now. If anyone knows, please do tell!

I greatly admire Dita von Teese, even in her candid photos she always exudes elegance and glamour! Even though she is not wearing heavy make-up, she still has on her signature red lipstick (MAC I'm guessing).

Don't you just love the giant hibiscus blooms on this dress and how they flow down one shoulder? Oh goodness, everything about this outfit is just pure perfection!
