The vintage shop will soon be getting a much needed vintage clothing shop update this weekend! The new vintage collection will be fresh in starting tomorrow! Lots of floral prints (since I adore florals) and colors centered around green, cream, and black. My personal goal for the shop by the end of May is to have 120 products in the shop! Think I can do it?!?

It is no big secret that one of my favorite colors is nude (peach/pink) so as I was cleaning a bit of my closet yesterday I noticed I do not own a shoe that features this color. And really, I SHOULD...right? So which nude colorblocked high heel shoe should I get? So far my favorites are the two Sam Edelman choices...I think it's because I'm really loving the silver metallic detail... hmmm...

A few days ago I had posted on twitter that my goal by the end of May is to reduce my closet by 50%. That is no small feat! I don't have nearly as many clothes as one might think I should have, but it is kind of a ridiculous number. Lately I've kind of been disgusted with the abundance of crap I've just accumulated.


The past few weeks I've noticed my wardrobe choices have all centered around the same 20-40 pieces and I think I need to keep these 20-40 and put the rest away and if after one month's time I haven't missed it, wondered where it was, or pined for it to be back in my hands...then it's time to let it go.

I don't feature "what i wore" posts that often mostly because taking photos of myself is kind of a pain in the ass and I just feel sort of like a big headed bigot when I do write the post (like right now I'm reading what I'm writing and totally rolling my eyes...) but I have noticed when I DO an outfit post and recap on what I wore I realize I actually already wore some of these pieces earlier this week with different things.

Anyhow... long story short, I've worn these shorts 3 times in the past 2 weeks. And I've worn these shoes 4 times in the past week. And they grey henley shirt not pictured I've worn twice this week. And the vintage satchel bag I wear every day!

Maybe it's because I'm a vintage shop owner so I have natural tendencies to be a bit of a hoarder. I mean SOMEDAY all my old Marc Jacobs, DVF, and Betsey Johnson dresses WILL be vintage. But man oh man am I craving minimalism in my wardrobe!

I love vintage photographs and especially love when I come across an entire series of them! These guys and gals living it up in Sedona, Arizona are captured in idyllic 1950s moments by LIFE photographer Nena Leen. I love these photos, it makes me wish of simpler times and also makes me wish I had a horse AND a swimming pool. I'd prance around my backyard like a champ too thinking "Hell yeah, I'm bomb!"



Ain't no party like a desert pool party... with a HORSE but of course!

In other news... I'm kind of getting back into the swing of things. Trying to take better care of myself. Made yet another doctor's appointment as whatever this physical thing I'm going through is not really getting better. The medication is just keeping everything at bay. Going to get another doctor's opinion. Thank goodness it's Wednesday. Spending some much needed girlie time with a bunch of girlfriends tonight... baking cookies, eating pizza, trying out the new Mint Julep mud mask I just got, playing dress up... keep on truckin!

A friend of mine had posted these vintage photos of showgirls in the circus dating from the 1940s and 1950s on facebook and immediately I had to see more! These photos are culled from The Retronaut originally and I first found them here at Flavorwire.


The vintage showgirl costumes are so grand aren't they? I love all the feather headresses, the sequined bodices, and those amazing tutus! All the women look so charming and whimsical, reminds me of when I was younger and I wanted to run away and join a circus with nothing in my little suitcase but my ballet costumes and pointe shoes!

It's bittersweet.

Question: So...what happened to my domain? Why is it dead?
Answer: My ex is a gigantic asshole. (I KNOW you're reading this, that's right YOU ARE A SAD MAN!) He decided to delete my site. And a bunch of other sites I had registered, built, and maintained all because he's a depressed fuck. Can you tell I hate him? I hate him with every fibre of my being!

Ok, moving on...

Last week I was majorly stressed at the day job. So much I broke out in hives on Friday. (It happened another time... coincidentally when I was dealing with my divorce last summer) Then I thought I'd better relax by getting down with Nature. Clearly Nature was not being cool with me as I broke out with bites all over. So hives + bites + stress = totally not cool.

I missed a few days of work, have been on meds, and ON TOP of all of it life decided to throw me ANOTHER curve ball in the love department. Not even going to go there.

But, whatever...I had a really good, really hard cry in the tub while the cold shower rained over me (since hot water made my skin burn like drops of fire!). I was completely wailing and having a freak out "WHY DO YOU HAAAAAAATE ME GODDDDD!!!" then I slept for what seemed like ages.

Suffice it to say I'm a lot better. Now anyway. :)

I love going to Griffith Park in Los Angeles and love how close it is to where I live. Sometimes when the going gets tough I have to remember to pull myself away and go back to Nature. And walking among the wildflowers or even just laying in the grass watching the grey clouds move (when it's a very cloudy day you have to concentrate a bit to see the clouds move, at least from my experience), it reminds me that I'm but a small creature, only human. Whatever decisions I make everything else moves on. Should I stay still and do nothing? Or press on?



I choose to press on. Always.
